ZeroCarbon Charge

Supporting fleet electrification, in any climate

Helping Norway’s postal and logistics provider to reach net zero

Posten Bring AS is a Nordic postal and logistics group with more than 12,500 employees, aiming to make everyday life easier and the world smaller. Posten Bring is proud of its green credentials, and it’s already making good progress towards:

  • Converting all vans and 80 percent of trucks to fossil free alternatives by 2030.
  • Reaching net zero road emissions from all road transport by 2040.
  • Being completely net zero by 2050.

The logistics provider sought a fleet decarbonization partner that could keep its fleet reliably charged, in varying weather conditions, and manage the electrical load within tight energy constraints.

It undertook an initial 12 month trial of our ZeroCarbon Charge solution at its Logistikksenter Oslo depot, and following the partnership success, expanded the deployment to 161 electric vans and trucks at depots across Oslo.

Delivering business transformation with ZeroCarbon Charge

Posten Bring selected our ZeroCarbon Charge solution as it is technology agnostic, so can work alongside a range of pre-existing hardware and software solutions. This was seamlessly integrated into its on-site infrastructure, covering more than 160 charge points and delivering telematic services for more than 60 vehicles.

Through the deployment, we have provided electrical load management, tariff optimisation, real-time dashboard and reporting, and a support helpdesk for issue troubleshooting and resolution. We also provided live state-of-charge data to support route planning. Where it’s been required, we have also provided electrical consultancy, fault finding and infrastructure support.

Our partnership has enabled the decarbonization of its vehicles at its LSO site, and we’re supporting the electrification of its trucks at the Østlandsterminal too. On a monthly basis, we help Posten Bring to manage an average energy consumption of 75.57 MWh, keeping its operations running smoothly with zero downtime.

Our partnership is empowering Posten Bring to:

  • Optimize charge load management at depots to stay within site limits.
  • Reduce energy costs through tariff optimisation.
  • Charge more vehicles without a grid connection upgrade.
  • Receive real-time data on vehicles and charging operations in advanced reporting dashboards.
  • Review data science backed reports that inform operational improvements.
  • Have peace-of-mind that vehicles are charged and ready for deliveries.
  • Enjoy charge point diagnostics support and vehicle efficiency reporting.

Hitachi ZeroCarbon’s end-to-end service ticked a lot of boxes, and through our deployment of ZeroCarbon Charge, we achieved complete visibility into the health and performance of our key battery assets, so we can optimise our vehicles based on route, journey, or condition.
