Hitachi ZeroCarbon to deliver charging solutions for Norway’s largest fleet of electric vehicles

News
  • Hitachi ZeroCarbon will support Posten Bring’s fleet of electric vans and trucks with a new smart charging solution.
  • The collaboration will help achieve Posten Bring’s target to be Norway’s greenest logistics supplier.
  • Posten Bring has lowered its CO2 emissions by 51% since 2012 and is one of five companies in Norway to have already met Paris Agreement reduction goals.

Hitachi ZeroCarbon has been chosen by Posten Bring to support its sustainability objective to be the best at sustainable value creation. The partnership will see Hitachi ZeroCarbon deliver electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions to two depots in Oslo. The ZeroCarbon Charge solution will enable electric charging for 161 electric vans and trucks across the Logistikksenter depot for electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs) and Østlandsterminal for electric heavy goods vehicles (eHGVs).

Hitachi ZeroCarbon will support with electrical load management, tariff optimisation and real-time dashboard and reporting. The company’s ZeroCarbon Charge solution will help enable the management of charging loads at depots to remain within site limits, observe real-time information on the EVs and their charging operations, implement operational improvements from data-based insight reports and ensure vehicles are charged and ready for deliveries. The software driven service and solution is technology agnostic and will operate on Posten’s wide range of electric vehicles and charging hardware.

Hitachi ZeroCarbon is enabling Posten Bring’s plan to convert its entire fleet of vans and 80% of its trucks to fossil-free alternatives, and to reach net zero emissions from road transport, by 2040. Posten Bring set its ambitious climate goals early on and has already reduced CO2 emissions by 51% since 2012.

The new contract will build on the work of an initial pilot project which was conducted over 12 months at the Logistikksenter Oslo depot. The software driven ZeroCarbon Charge solution has been proven to be compatible with all features and capabilities demonstrated on Posten’s range of electric vans and charging hardware.

Mike Nugent, Global Head of Sales and Delivery, Hitachi ZeroCarbon said:
